Hello! I am Kenny Banks. I am a rising junior studying pure mathematics (with a minor in computer science) at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG).
As an undergraduate, my research interests are ever-changing, but I tend to be gravitated towards set theory and topology-esque branches of mathematics. I have attended two REU's. During the first I was introduced to abstract algebra, and during the second I was introduced to mathematical modeling. I have worked with multiple professors on independent pure-math related research projects. On the computer science side of things, I enjoy attending hackathons and building projects with groups of friends.
In my free time I like to ride my bike, boulder, go on walks, think deeply about things, explore new places, try new food, spend time in nature, and hang out with my friends and family. I love mathematics, because it offers an intriguing avenue for exploring the world and meeting awesome new people.
